“One of the absolute worst decorating don’ts that I have personally encountered involved the quintessential lake home,” says designer Donovan Swick. “Upon surveying the great room for the first time, I found that all of the furniture was directed toward the TV. Huge mistake! Especially considering that the marvelous view of the water and shoreline was given the cold shoulder. Also, the fireplace was in shambles, while the wonderful windows capturing the aforementioned view were not being utilized.”
