“Another travesty I encountered involved a basement for a client who needed it to become a home office for corporate business. This financial adviser needed a lot of help as the basement was simply sterile, like a lab,” says designer Donovan Swick. “There was an absolute absence of color, aside from a monochromatic blue/gray. Coupled with no character, this room honestly posed a serious challenge.”
