One color on the walls helps to unify the open floor plan.Creativity helped this homeowner overcome her decorating obstacles. In the kitchen, she toned down the baby blue countertops by painting the walls the same color. She also painted the living and dining room walls red to help unify the open space.
A water damaged ceiling was the beginning of a whole new bedroom. The homeowner took muslin that had been sewn together and tacked it to the ceiling to give it a tent-like look. She decoupaged wrapping paper into the panels of an outdated headboard and accented it with colorful paints. In place of closet doors, she hung wall-to-wall draperies to play off the ceiling.
