After- The walls are already painted a pretty taupe so they focus on the furniture to create a new look. An old headboard is attached to the back of the sofa to make it a focal point. A chenille-covered foam cushion and pillows round out the look.
- The homeowner's iron garden table is disassembled and the top is reattached to a chair base for a low coffee table. The legs are paired with a wooden top for a side table.
- The dining table also receives a face-lift. The tile top is removed and replaced with a sheet of glass for a lighter look.
- The draperies are polyester panels tied onto metal clothes hooks.
How-to: Wooden Sofa Revamp
Steps:
- Cut the arms near the back of the sofa.
- Slide a headboard into place, allowing it to rest on the sofa back at the same angle. Attach with screws.
- Trim the legs off of the headboard and paint entire piece white.
How-to: Custom Candleholders
Steps:
- Attach a terra-cotta saucer to the top of an unpainted wooden lamp base.
- Paint white and lightly sand for a distressed look.
