Country-Theme Makeover for a Cluttered Family Room

The brick fireplace had a severe look because of deep-set grout lines. To help it blend into the new country style, the homeowners pressed sanded grout between the bricks with their hands, and then smoothed it with a trowel to raise the grout line to be more flush with the brick. For an even softer look, leave traces of the product on the brick. Once dry, apply grout sealer over the entire surface to keep it from cracking.
