Country-Theme Makeover for a Cluttered Family Room

To make a newer piece of furniture look like it's been around for generations, try a rustic paint treatment. Paint a base coat, in this case red. Then paint another color over it such as white. Use sandpaper or a palm sander to rough-up the paint and expose the base color. When you get the look you want, seal the table with a clear flat wax.
