Interior redesigners Kristine Moore and Tre Curran convert a conversationally-challenged room into a charming, entertaining-friendly atmosphere.

After

  • The sofa is moved to create better traffic flow and to define the living room from the dining room.
  • The alcove is made more functional and cozy by adding a colorful rug, a floral loveseat and a wicker trunk.
  • Accessories fill in the blanks — a pottery collection is brought out to fill out the hutch and the fireplace mantel is decorated with a rustic-themed painting, which mimics the look of the rock fireplace.
