The bed is framed with two bookcases and a valance overhead. A shelf is added to the top of each bookcase to bridge the two pieces; a scalloped valance is attached to the front of the shelf with hook and loop tape. White lights (a favorite of the homeowner's husband) are added underneath the shelf. The storage space in the bookcases is hidden behind fabric panels that are secured to the top with hook and loop tape. More storage is added with two shelves attached in between the bookcases. A padded fabric headboard is secured to the top shelf with a hinge that lifts the headboard to reveal the storage behind it. The bed is then placed in front of the headboard.

A plain table and hutch top are married with white paint. The space underneath the table is hidden behind a fabric skirt attached to the table edge with hook and loop tape. An oval mirror is attached to the hutch top.

Fabric panels are tied up with ribbon for a faux Roman shade look on the windows. A scalloped valance adds decorative details and unifies the look with the bed surround.
