Hide CaptionShow CaptionCombining traditional elements with mid-century style, this room is reminiscent of a 1950s beachside sunroom.
Designed by Michael Ostrow, the inspiration room is warm and cozy, but at the same time the crisp whites and grass greens give the room a light and breezy feel. The mid-century look comes from the clean lines and lacquered finished tables.

A contemporary touch is present in the fresh color palette and the use of multiple patterns. The room is full of wonderful contrasts that make the space feel like a conservative garden party with a wild side. Exotic botanical designs are next to traditional houndstooth, while a garden-style latticework motif sits adjacent to a crocodile-skin pattern.

The Double Take team–makeover designer Michele Addey, budget shopper Halili Knox and carpenter Jamie Schmitt– put their magic to work re-creating this relaxing, aquatic-themed living room for less than $3,000.
