An urn-shaped, crackle-finish palm pot valued at over $300 is positioned to the right of the sofa in the inspiration room. Michelle duplicates the look for $60. First, she paints a $10 lemon pot with a coat of taupe latex paint. Once the paint is dry, she mixes school glue with water then applies it to the pot. When the glue is almost dry but still a little tacky, a coat of ivory color paint is added. A blow dryer is then continuously waved over the pot to achieve the subtle crackle effect.
