The walls are painted a soft taupe color and enhanced with horizontal stripes that tie in with the homeowners' curtains. Two thin raspberry-colored stripes are painted on either side of a darker taupe stripe midway up the wall.

The headboard is created out of foam, batting and fabric stapled directly to the wall. The top edge is trimmed with molding to hide the rough edges.

Sloan uses a toile pattern for the duvet and backs and trims it with red cotton to help unify the color scheme.

Wall art is created out of rattan place mats, fabric scraps and carved coasters. For each, Sloan covers a foam core square with fabric, hot-glues a coaster to the top, then hot-glues the entire piece to a place mat.
