The large-scale pieces in this small space make it feel intimate rather than crowded.Designer Gene Law faced a huge problem when he decided to downsize into a smaller home in Santa Fe, N.M. Regardless of actual space, he was determined to make his large-scale furniture work.
The small living room is filled with furniture, but the arrangement makes it comfortable and inviting. Artwork on the walls gives the room height, which brings the eye up and makes the room feel more spacious than it really is.
Leading into another room is a pair of ornately carved teak doors. Law used a similar value of stain on each wood piece to help unify the design.
