Chad Taylor's spare bedroom has accumulated an assortment of furniture, gym equipment, books and miscellaneous things. He wants to create an inviting studio space where he and his girlfriend, Maureen, can comfortably work and create art. Designer Karen McAloon along with painter Danielle Hirsch and contractor Ian Read help Taylor turn a messy spare room into a classy, inspiring art studio that can also double as a guest room.
This spare bedroom has become a storage space with piles of stuff everywhere. The homeowner, Chad Taylor, won't even let anyone see it in its current state. He wants to surprise his girlfriend, Maureen, with a creative space for both of them before she moves in.
The chocolate walls are a good start, but a little flat as they are. With many printed photographs lying around and lots of empty frames, it's time for the room to be personalized with these special pictures.
The futon in the center of the room doesn't exactly make the space usable and the wall behind it is completely blank.
