Hide CaptionShow CaptionThe sharp contrast of the rich brown headboard against light colored walls really makes a statement.
The bed is the focal point in the inspiration room. To replicate the headboard the team starts with a plywood frame. Hot glue is used to adhere foam to the plywood, batting then goes over the foam to help round the corners. The slipcover for the headboard was made with a rich cocoa velvet fabric that was only $16 a yard. The slipcover is squeezed over the frame for a perfect fit.
The bedding in the designer room is comprised of layered textures of exquisite high-count Egyptian cotton, Merino wool and lush silks. Halili found great shams and coverlets in the exact matching chocolate brown color with a gloss/matte scrolled pattern. The small throw pillows were crafted from three different silk fabrics all in deep opulent colors with matching glossy sheen.
