Laurie and Bob Durkin loved moving into the home in which Bob grew up; however, it needed updating. With the help of designer Cameron Snyder, Laurie took pleasure in adding decorating touches from her own childhood kitchen to make the new kitchen warm and inviting, as well as highly functional.
- The wall between the old kitchen and dining room was removed. As a result, each room feels bigger as the spaces now share light.
Stainless steel appliances and a shiny tile splash add gleam to the kitchen and provide contrast to the warm tones of Mexican tile floors and yellow cabinets.
Removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room and adding a new work island updated this childhood kitchen.
Custom touches like the open shelves, wine rack and plate rack were added to semi-stock cabinetry for an upscale look. The microwave is hidden below the plates.We Recommend...
