When Jamie Gosnell bought his 12-year-old home in Kennebunk, Maine, he set out to do a small remodeling job but ended up keeping only one room; in the end he'd increased the size of the house by 30 percent. A lover of nature, he wanted a home with as much natural light as possible that would bring in the beauty of the Maine woods.
The only furniture in the private master bedroom is a stunning red, white and black handmade bed. The bed has a pagoda-style trellis and built-in end tables and display shelves. The footboard contains a pop-up TV unit. The soapstone floor in the master bath was designed to bring the outdoors in. River stone was inset into the floor to resemble an outdoor stream.
