AfterMarc and Cindy Miller moved into their home with their two children 10 years ago. The unique open floor plan allows the family to be together, even if they're in separate rooms. Recently the couple remodeled the family room and kitchen and now they're ready to tackle the living and dining room. Which designer will they choose for the job?
After meeting with all the designers, the Millers choose Annie Speck as their designer. They loved her idea of how to handle the dining room issue of the kids' workspace, and they were even more thrilled that it could be transformed into a beautiful area when they had guests over. With a budget of $25,000, Annie transforms the living room from bleak to chic, and the dining room is now functional and beautiful. The couple switched from the sisal in the original plan to a wool area rug. New table lamps augment the existing overhead canisters and provide the option of softer lighting. Now the family has a warm, welcoming space everyone can enjoy.
Before the makeover this living/dining room was seriously lacking in color and style. Now the space has a warm, inviting and cohesive look.
