Hide CaptionShow CaptionThe fireplace is given a new paint treatment to provide the room with an incredible focal point.
The portion above the mantel is painted slate gray to complement the other colors in the room. A faux-finish marble effect is painted in the space between the mantel and hearth. A new, richly-stained mantel is built to make it all stand out in an elegant way. The homeowners’s unique bench is adorned with pillows made from the same fabric used to make the window treatments.

Tip: When decorating a small space, use similar color tones on the walls, rug and curtains so there is less contrast and more unity. Keeping large pieces and surfaces fairly similar helps expand the room. Add color and texture with your accessories.
