Transforming the Makeover Room

Guest designer Stuart Piontek helped direct the transformation of a mismatched, bland bedroom into a romantic spot with the following steps:

Added a soft buttery cream tone to the walls (Benjamin Moore: Rich Cream) and added flowing white draperies that invite the sunlight. Hand-made sheer swags were hung over the draperies to accent the window treatments.
The design team added hardware for the sheer paneling that draped the bed which added a dramatic look to this area.

The design team constructed a headboard out of plywood, foam and cotton damask material to simulate the look of the headboard in the Inspiration Room.

The bed is dressed with a cotton damask duvet set, an ivory ruffled bed skirt, handmade ivory stripe pillows and no-sew bolster pillows.

Used a skirted round table for the left side table. Dressed the table with a footed silver orchid container, a silver candleholder with ivory candle, a silver painted wooden box. Hung a square print of a Greco-Roman urn over the table.

Also used a skirted round table for right side table. Dressed the table with a silver wastebasket filled with flowers, silver planters and a silver tray set. Hung a thistle portrait over the table to add an artistic touch.

Placed a cream chaise with a skirted base and curved back near the left side table area. Dressed the chaise with fringe pillows, beaded pillows, chenille throw and placed a blue and white horse table nearby for accent.
