Before and After: Old World Living Room Makeover

Before

Before the makeover this room was boring and ordinary with little to boast about. Now the space has a beautiful Old World elegance that gives it character and charm.

The windows are dressed up with whimsical cornice boards.

A half-round table is placed behind the sofa and is also used to disguise the radiator.

Old molding is used to create a frame for the mirror over the fireplace. Postcard and wrapping paper cutouts are decoupaged onto the surface to give it some pizzazz.

An oversized chair is created out of porch posts and miscellaneous lumber and outfitted with door knobs to hold coats, hats and backpacks.

The homeowner's collection of family photos are grouped on the wall in new frames to complete the room.
