Three of the walls are painted a warm neutral color; the fourth wall is painted in a diamond pattern with the neutral color and a soft mossy green hue.

Storage is added with floor-to-ceiling shelves mounted to the wall. A small workspace is worked into the design on the end.

Two brand-new filing cabinets are set under the window.

Fabric panels are hung from inside the wall-to-wall valance to hide the workspace when not in use.

The homeowners' existing desk is painted black and placed facing out into the room.

A thrift-store chair is tidied up with new cushions, paired with a chest of the homeowners' and placed in the corner for a small reading spot.

Chrome towel bars are repurposed into a magazine rack over the reading nook.

Craft letters and leftover paint add interest to a bare wall.

Two wooden boxes are turned into wall sconces. A hole is drilled into the bottom of each larger enough for the electrical socket and finished with a light bulb. Once attached to the wall, cord covers are mounted and painted to make them blend in.
