Only feet from the shore, the home was in serious disrepair when Maureenl bought it. With the help of designer Olivia Sanderson, the first-floor rooms were creatively reorganized to accommodate a large L-shaped kitchen, eating area and gathering room that are the center of the family’s beach life.
The kitchen has white walls, counters, appliances and sinks. The beadboard cabinets and handpainted backsplash tiles add color and texture. Glass insets in the upper cabinets lighten the feel of the wood cabinets, while a natural pine floor anchors the room.
The large central island provides additional storage and preparation area. The refrigerator was located outside the work triangle to keep traffic out of the work area.
