Hide CaptionShow CaptionThe new color on the walls and a white border around the windows do a lot to lighten this space.
The wall area above and below each window is painted white to create a column effect that frames out the homeowner's artwork. Eight 2' x 4' shag rugs are whipstitched together on the back to create one large area rug for the dining room. The new chairs were found at a thrift-store and refurbished with paint and new seat covers to make a complete dining set with the homeowner's existing table. A paper globe lantern is hung over the dining table to help define it as the focal point and a custom shelf is created to hold the homeowner's glass art pieces.
