This is the first glass art item that the Weinsteins collected. It's a 1970s piece from Sweden. This Venini vessel is worth $6,000.

Lee Weinstein and her husband Louis have traveled the world, and while traveling, Lee found her very first piece of glass art. That's where her collection began.

Thirty years later it has grown to more than 120 pieces, with mostly hand-blown vessels from Europe's and America's finest glass artists. Her most sentimental piece comes from her very supportive husband. He blew it himself!

Here are some quick tips on how to start your own collection:

• Swedish glass is a popular and affordable collectible. Orrefors by Swedish artist Ingeborg Lundin are in the thousands price range. A 1965 ariel gray/green and clear vase will average $1,490.

• Look for pieces made by French artist Emile Galle in the 1900s. Even a small piece can be worth $1,500! A 1900 Galle fire-polished cameo vase that is only 4-3/4 inches tall goes for $1,950.

• Lino Tagliapietra contemporary collections are expensive pieces. Expect to pay a median of $33,000 for hand-blown glass pieces from his Dinosaur, Stromboli, Batman, and Riverstone series, to name a few! A 2002 blue dinosaur glass is worth $44,000.
