All About
Downsizing to a smaller home can be a real challenge. You have less space, but you still need room for your favorite things. Meet Darwin Otto and Brent Heeb — two guys with this same problem. They traded in their big old 1920s house for a smaller, newer model. As they are avid antique collectors, this could have been a problem; but the high ceilings and white walls proved to be the perfect canvas for starting over.
The living room is awash in color, and set against the white backdrop, it only makes the hues more vivid. In the seating area, a red linen-covered sofa anchors the room. A side chair is upholstered in an old coverlet that features a strong floral pattern in navy blue. Above the fireplace is a piece of Picasso-inspired artwork painted by their young grandson.
