Although David's first attempt to stain the concrete failed, he perseveres. Luckily, design assistant Danielle Hirsch has a great paint technique that looks like stain. Using two tones of patio paint that are watered down, Danielle creates a wash that looks natural like a stain. If you roll a flat layer of patio paint onto concrete, it'll bubble and peel in a few years. Brushing and dabbing the paint into the concrete minimizes air pockets and increases the paint's durability.
