Emmy night. Hollywood’s premier night to honor the stars of the small screen. And what better way to do that than with a party? Skybar, at the Mondrian Hotel on the famous Sunset Strip, with its casual yet elegant outdoor atmosphere and minimalist decor designed by world-renowned designer Philippe Stark, provides the perfect venue to host the star-studded event. This year, however, this trendy hot spot will be transformed for one night only in an effort to make the evening more spectacular than ever.
With a budget of $50,000 for labor and materials, Entertainment Tonight’s executive producer, Linda Bell Blue, hopes one of our design professionals can take an already famous space and make it unforgettable, making this year’s party one that no one will soon forget.
With the party only days away, Linda has very little time to make a decision as to which design she will choose. After hearing and spending time with all three proposals, Linda decides that Clay’s glittering wonderland best captures the feel she wants this year’s party to have. He plays up the theme of the famous Emmy orb by presenting a plan that consists of neutral, etherial colors and hip, white shag carpet. White roses, feathered boas, crystal bobbles and simplistic lighting add a touch of class and assist in bringing the room to life. From ceiling to floor, for one special night, Skybar is transformed into a private lounge as Hollywood celebrates television’s biggest night.
