Many passionate cooks know exactly what their perfect kitchen would look like and when they finally get a chance to build it, there's no stopping them. When Peter and Sharon Sabin moved from California to Oregon in the early 1990s, they chose a 10-acre farm big enough to include all their interests including Sharon's love for cooking.

The extra-large space is full of natural materials and features two stoves and glass-fronted cabinets. Guests can gather around the breakfast table or the expansive butcher-block island. An abundance of windows allows the natural light to filter in. A high ceiling makes the room feel even more spacious. Sharon's dishware and pottery collection is housed in a room with custom cabinets built by Peter. It includes copper pots, glassware, colorful pottery and china from Italy, Portugal, England and America.
