Materials:
tape measure
chalk line
paint brushes/rollers
ladder
3 shades of flat paint (Benjamin Moore, Crème de Mint, Meadowlands Green, Irish Moss)
painter's tape, 1" width
Steps:
1. Decide how many tiers to put on the ceiling. For this project, there are three different tiers.
2. Measure the ceiling, dividing the space into equal sections so they will fit proportionally inside one another.
3. Use a chalk line to mark the outline of the tiers. Once the grid is mapped out on the ceiling in chalk, place the painter’s tape over the chalk lines. This will serve as a one-inch white delineation between the tiers.
4. For this project, they used three shades of green. Paint the lightest shade on the outer section, the next inner section a shade darker and the darkest shade in the center. The gradient colors give the illusion of height.
