Color Burst: The Carnation Pomander

This adaptable floral arrangement can be hung from a tree branch above an outdoor serving table, carried by a young bridesmaid during a wedding ceremony or laid with ribbons trailing as a place setting and party favor for dinner guests.

Materials

Flowers
25 green carnations

Other Materials
florist's scissors
90 gauge wire
stem tape
thick and thin ribbon
1 small floral foam ball
small piece of garden stake

Spray or single rosebuds, or half-opened roses

Prepare the Wier

Make a hook at one end of a length of wire. The wire should be longer than the diameter of the floral foam ball.

Cut two lengths of ribbon — one thick, one thin — about 8 inches long. Lay the thin ribbon on the thick ribbon, fold them over and press the ends together. Place the wire hook around the ribbon ends and press it down to secure them. Wrap one end of the wire around the wire hook and ribbon ends a few times.

Cover the base of the ribbons and the top of the wire in stem tape.
