Get a Clear View With Floating Ranunculas

Materials

Flowers
35 orange ranunculas

White roses, or white or yellow Icelandic poppies offer good alternatives, as well.

Other Materials
rectangular glass vase (7 1/2 inches high, 9 1/2 inches long)
sterilizing tablet or flower food
tape
florist’s scissors
craft knife

Use a small fishbowl in place of the glass vase, if you prefer.

Create a Grid

Half-fill the vase with water and add a sterilizing tablet. To make a grid over the vase, place strips of tape about 1/2 an inch apart across its length and width. Test the grid, to make sure it can hold the flowers up; the square holes should be big enough that you can insert the stems but small enough that the flowers don't fall through.

Trim Excess Tape

Press the tape down onto the edges of the vase to secure it tightly, then trim off the excess tape with a craft knife so the grid appears invisible.
