"Where the Wild Things Are"

Brandi Hackman creates a page in with earthy colors and rough textures to capture a man's love of the great outdoors.

Materials:

fiber
transparent vellum
raisin, dark chocolate, deep red, black and birch card stock
Pull Template
black eyelets
eyelet setter and hammer
embossing powder
embossing tool
alphabet stamps
copper and black Inks
adhesive
fixative/sealant

Steps:

Print title on translucent vellum, then lightly chalk surface with brown chalk using cotton ball. Seal with fixative. Emboss edges with embossing powder and embossing tool. Attach to double brown mat with black eyelets and use fiber to embellish.

Cut red frame for photo. Crinkle and open several times. Ink along ridges with copper and black ink. Add eyelets using setter and hammer. Place frame over photo. Mat photo and frame on cream card stock.

Figure C

Place wide strip of chocolate card stock on raisin background and add photo on top. Mat remaining photos on black and add to second page. Use your favorite hunting, fishing or camping photos.

Emboss the title of the event using alphabet stamps and embossing powder on raisin cardstock, then mat onto red. Use eyelets to attach.

Make two journal pulls using template, add journaling and place behind photo. Add eyelets and fiber to pull-tabs. Cut slits in sheet protector to access pocket pull-outs.
