Jeen Brown shows how to decorate a plain fabric doll that you can find at the craft store. She begins by making an outfit of gathered fabric and gluing it on with a piece of ribbon hiding the raw edges. Then she stitches a small piece of fabric so that it fits over the doll’s head and becomes the top of the dress. She cuts out the center of a doily, threads it with narrow ribbon and gathers it to make a puffy sleeve; sleeves are attached and glued to the arms. To accessorize the outfit, Brown makes a pair of little red shoes out of felt and pieces of a crochet applique. Then she adds a hairstyle made from strips of fabric.
