Tips for Cutting Plastic Foam

Use these tips when working with plastic foam:
- Use a straightedge or sharp point to score the foam (scissors and credit cards work, too). Then place the block over a table edge; snap it to break it along the scored line.
- To cut rounded shapes, use a foam knife, which are available at craft and floral stores (figure A). It's a small serrated knife with a very thin blade for intricate cuts.
