Making Pom Poms

Materials:

yarn (worsted weight makes a great pom pom)
2" x 4" cardboard

Steps:

1. Measure out 12 yards of yarn and, leaving a 6-inch tail, wrap yarn around cardboard until you have a 6-inch piece left (figure A).

2. Cut another piece of yarn 8 inches long.

3. Holding firm, slip the wrapped yarn off the cardboard and tie the 8-inch piece around the center and knot (figure B).

4. Holding the wrapped yarn by the 8-inch piece of yarn, cut the ends (figure C) and trim into a ball shape (figure D).

5. With the 8-inch piece of yarn, attach to end of scarf (figure E).
