Steps:

For a Daisy and a Prairie Point Leaf:

1. The daisy is made in two parts--knot petals and flat flower center. Make six fat knotted petals using 4 inches of 5/8-inch-wide cream silk satin ribbon for each petal. Tie a knot in each piece of ribbon (figure A), and fold the ribbon into a petal shape with the knot at the top of the petal.

2. Secure the overlapped raw edges with a few stitches. Stitch each petal to a 1-1/4-inch circle of crinoline (figure B).

3. Make a flat flower for the center of the daisy using 9 inches of 5/8" wide ribbon. Start by sewing a knot of ribbon to the center of a 3/4-inch circle of crinoline (figure C). Take a few stitches to hold the knot in place.

4. Turn the remaining ribbon in a clockwise direction, creating a fold in the ribbon (figure D). Secure this fold with a few stitches. Repeat creating the folds and stitching until the ribbon is used up. Secure the end of the ribbon under the crinoline circle (figure E).

5. Sew the flat flower over the center of the daisy petals.

6. Make several prairie point leaves using 3-1/2 inches of 1-1/2-inch-wide olive green wire-edge ribbon. Fold the raw edges of a length of ribbon down so a triangle shape is formed (figure F). Sew gathering stitches across the back of the triangle (figure G), gather tightly and secure.

7. Sew each leaf to a rectangle of crinoline (figure H).

8. Sew the daisy over the two leaves and cut away the excess crinoline. Sew the daisy/leaves to the center of the sachet bag (figure I).

9. Sew 2-inch-wide lace edging to the top of the sachet bag (figure J).

10. Fill the bag with lavender and tie the drawstrings into a bow.

Steps:

For a Cabochon Rose and a Blossom:

1. Make the cabochon rose in two parts--a coil rose center and three outer rolled edge petals. Make the coil center first using 6 inches of 5/8-inch-wide wired ribbon and the u-gather stitch pattern (figure K). Gather into a tight rose shape (figure L). This becomes the inner center of the cabochon rose.

2. Sew this center to the middle of a 1-inch circle of crinoline.

3. Make the three outer petals each using 3 inches of 1-1/2-inch-wide wired ribbon. Roll the long edge of the ribbon down one third of the way, so the width of the ribbon is now 1 inch wide (figure M). This is a very tight roll. Secure the roll with pins. Sew the u-gather stitch pattern on the ribbon and gather so a petal shape is formed (figure N). Repeat this for the other two pieces of ribbon. Sew on the first petal, over the coil rose center and by cupping the petal under the crinoline. Overlap and sew on the second and third petals in the same manner, so a domed rose is formed (figure O).

4. Make two pale gold blossoms using 4-1/2 inches of 3/8-inch-wide ribbon per blossom. Divide the ribbon into four even sections and sew the four-petal u-gather pattern. Pull the gathering tightly so the four-petal blossom is formed. Embellish the center of the blossom with four gold seed beads (figure P).

5. Make six prairie point leaves using 3 inches of 1-inch-wide olive green ribbon for each leaf. Sew the leaves to crinoline.

6. Sew 3 inches of purple flower bud trim over one set of leaves and repeat for the other set of leaves. Sew the rose over the leaves. Sew the blossoms on each side of the rose and on top of the leaves (figure Q).

7. With lace already sewn to the top of a sachet bag, sew the rose/blossom/leaf combo to the center of the bag.

8. Fill the bag with lavender and tie ribbon closure into a bow.
