Steps:

1. Cut a template from card stock measuring 3-1/8" x 5-1/2."

2. Use a ruler to draw a line 2 inches from the top of the 12" x 12" kraft print paper. Measure the center point and place template in the center of the page, along the guideline. Trace around the template.

3. Repeat by positioning the template on each side of the center, leaving a column of about 5/8 inch between the squares (figure A). Use a craft knife and ruler to cut the openings.

4. Cut three matching openings into the second sheet of the 12" x 12" kraft print paper using the first cut sheet as a guide.

5. Cut three holes, 1/8 inch smaller, into the 12" x 12" red print paper and position between the two kraft print sheets. Glue the three sheets together (figure B).

6. Punch 1/8-inch holes at the top and bottom of each opening. Reinforce holes with eyelets (figure C).

7. Decorate both sides of three shipping tags using stamps and inks (figure D).

8. Punch 1/4-inch holes into the bottom side of each tag. Attach a reinforcement label around the hole on both sides of the tag and cover with coordinating ink (figure E).

9. Bend a 3-inch piece of silver wire at the first inch and thread through the hole in the paper. Hold tag in the center of the opening, and thread the wire through the hole in the tag (figure F). Flatten wire to keep in place. Repeat with remaining two tags.

10. Finish layout by adding photos and journaling (figure G).

Tips:

1. Make the window fit any size tag or card. Simply add 3/4 inch to calculate the size of the opening. For example, if your tag is 2" x 3", cut a 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" opening.

2. It is helpful to make the "inside" mat to separate the two pages. It highlights the window openings, creates reinforcement, and compensates for slight cutting errors.

3. You can suspend tags or cards from ribbon, wire, string, and fibers. Also try hanging items from all four corners rather than just the top or bottom.
