Stitched Stationery and Envelope

Materials and Tools:

glossy magazine paper, copier paper or cardstock
applique, photo or wallpaper scrap
glue stick
sewing machine

Steps:

If you want to apply decorative things like an applique, photo or wallpaper scrap to the paper, you should do that before beginning the sewing process. Just apply a small amount from a glue stick to affix--just enough to anchor it while you sew.

Set your machine on a general setting and make straight lines around the edge of the decoration (in this case wallpaper), turning manually (figure A). Lining up the needle with the edge of the decoration is the hardest part.

Go over the final stitches a few times to secure (figure B).

For the envelope, again place on any appliques first, and then sew together two pieces of paper (including all borders) so that one has about a three-inch overhang. When ready to use, seal with a glue stick.
