Project by Kathy Kromer from Fort Worth, Texas.

Inspired by her love of Renaissance painters, Kathy creates whimsical paper-clay face sculptures.

Materials:

ornament
paper clay
clay tools
acrylic paints
paintbrushes
hot glue gun and glue sticks
hair
boa
jewels

Steps:

1. Cover ornament in paper clay.

2. Add paper clay to form nose, eyes, brows and lips. Allow to dry overnight.

3. Paint entire face a flesh tone. Don’t paint the features so they aren’t wet.

4. Next, paint face features. Allow to dry.

5. Using a hot glue gun, embellish with hair, jewels, boas, etc.
