Cropper challenger Michele Gerbrandt created this beautiful purple-passion "Buthcart Gardens" scrapbooking page!

The competition hit a boiling point when Michele Gerbrandt showcased her unique scrapbook page that featured Canada's Buthcart Gardens in a vision of purple.

Journal Card

Materials:

3 sheets 12" x 12" purple card stock
sheet green printed paper
sheet bright purple cardstock
sheet printed purple paper
sheet white vellum
1/8" hole punch
green and gold glitter
chalk
liquid acid-free glue
photo safe adhesive
cotton swabs
black journaling pen

Steps:

Apply chalk in a sweeping motion to the solid purple cardstock background. Use colors that are lighter than the paper. This gives the background some variation like a printed paper. Also apply chalk to vellum journaling block.

Figure B

Freehand draw flowers of the back of bright purple cardstock and purple printed paper. Tear out the flowers so the white of the paper shows. Chalk the edges of the flowers with bright colors.

Add glitter to create highlights, and you can do this by using a cotton swab to apply liquid glue to the flowers.

Using two bowls, sprinkle glitter over the glue on flowers and shake off excess. Hole punch some of the centers of flowers.

Repeat the same technique as in step 2 for the photo mats. Tear the edges of the green printed paper and highlight with glitter.

For photo borders. Create a square template from cardstock 2 x 2". Use this template to trace and cut out the number of needed squares from various photos. Punch a 1/8" hole in the top and bottom center to weave paper through. Tear paper strips and weave it through the photos squares. Apply glitter and chalk as desired.

To create the tag. Create a photo mat and tear one edge. Punch a hole on one side and weave several torn paper strips (from paper used on the page) through the hole.
