Materials:
ArtEmboss med. copper & med. aluminum embossing metal
Spanish copper or black Rub n’ Buff
Ultimate Bond tape sheet
24-gauge gold wire
assorted beads and rhinestones
assorted charms
small brass washers
jump rings
pin back
stylus
scissors
brayer
round-nose pliers
1/16" hole punch
E6000 glue
Steps:
1. Cut two 2" x 3" pieces of copper and one 2" x 3" piece of tape. Adhere the copper pieces together using tape sheet (figure A).
2. Draw the shape of the desired brooch (circle, square or triangle) onto the copper using a stylus (figure B).
3. Cut a 2" x 2" piece of aluminum and tape and apply the tape to the back of the aluminum. Draw the pattern for the heart, star, moon, etc. onto the front of the aluminum. Cut out and adhere into place on the copper; then roll the brayer over the piece using heavy pressure.
4. Create the details and write the desired sentiment as shown, using the stylus (figure C). Hammer on the back with the rubber mallet covered in drops of dried hot glue (figure D) to give a little more texture (figure E).
5. Apply Rub n' Buff. Let dry for 3 minutes and buff with a clean cloth (figure F).
6. Create the wire and bead embellishments as shown using round-nose pliers, and glue into place. Punch a hole and attach a charm with a jump ring (figure G).
