Flirty Fabric Lapel Flower

Materials and Tools:

fabric remnants
scissors
different size paper flower patterns
pencil
beads
embroidery strands
large safety pin
wire
wire cutters

Steps 1-2

Steps:

1. Make three different flower petal patterns out of paper in assorted diameters and petal shapes.

2. Trace the patterns on the fabric, using a mix of patterns per color of fabric for a total of eight flower petals in three different colors.

Step 3

3. Cut out the flowers and stack by size, color and shape.

Step 4

4. Stack the petals and hold them together with your fingers.

Step 5

5. Stitch through the center using embroidery strands.

Steps 6-7

6. Pinch the fabric in the middle in various spots and layers and stitch to create a full-bodied flower.

7. Cut a piece of wire, bend it in a U-shape and thread both ends through the center of the flower from the back.

Step 8

8. String beads onto the ends of the wire and tie the ends together to secure.

Step 9

9. Twist the ends into tiny spirals for decoration.

Step 10

10. Add a safety pin to the back of the flirty fabric lapel flower.
