Extreme Soccer Accents: Using Metal Mesh and Artist Cement

Materials:

artist cement
large expression stamp
white pigment ink
white embossing powder
metal mesh panel
metal letters
spatula
eyelets and mini brads
old toothbrush

Steps:

Begin by applying cement with spatula (figure A) on black cardstock (just like frosting a cake). Frost all over, allowing some areas to be thick and some to be thin.

Figure B

Randomly press stamp into cement (figure B). Smear sections of impressions to blur edges of images. Immediately clean stamp under running water with toothbrush.

Position metal mesh as desired. Spread cement over mesh to hold in place (after cement dries). Fold over edges or trim off excess mesh as desired.

Stamp expression onto a small square of black cardstock with white pigment ink and emboss with white powder. Add random swipes of white ink on embossed image and cut image apart into lines of words (should be 12 lines total).

Crop and mount small photos on black mats and mount words around photo (figure C) to create photo borders. Mount remaining 3 single words on scraps from cropping photos and adhere with foam tape alongside large photos as shown on page.

Secure metal letters with mini brads through eyelets and mount page with eyelets onto larger black cardstock (for rigidity).
