When working with metallic foil, a wooden embossing stylus provides better results than a regular stylus.

Hammering is a quick, easy way to texturize metal accents.
Wendy Silver shares a technique for adding textured metallic accent tags to your page.

Materials:

light brown, tan and dark brown cardstock
2 paper tags (one larger than the other)
background paper of choice
copper ScrapMetal
sunflower design stamp
stickers
blue button
hammer
wooden stylus
string or fiber

Steps:

  1. To create the sunflower tag, first stamp the back surface of the ScrapMetal using the sunflower stamp.

  2. After stamping, emboss the pattern using a wooden stylus.

  3. Next, create a textured tag by using a tag as a template. Trace around paper tag onto ScrapMetal. Cut metal tag from ScrapMetal sheet.

  4. Once tag is cut, flip over so that back surface is exposed. Use hammer to randomly texturize the tag.

  5. After hammering, flip tag and mount smaller paper tag on top. Tie string through both to fasten together. Cut square from patterned paper and layer on top. Embellish with sticks.

  6. To complete the page, mount photos on brown cardstock and use printed paper blocks as desired. Mount sunflower tag to brown cardstock and adhere to lower left corner of page.

  7. Complete page as desired.
