Crochet Circle Necklace

Materials and Tools:

scissors
size C crochet hook
tapestry needle
invisible thread or fishing line
rayon metallic yarn (e.g., Gatsby # 20 [gold] by Katia)

Steps:

Large circle (make 1):
Ch 9, join in round with sl st, ch 3, work 30 dc in center circle. Join to the top of the ch-3 with a sl st. Fasten off by cutting the yarn and bringing the tail through.

Medium circles (make 2):
Cn 6, sl st to first ch to join in the round, ch 3, work 20 dc in the center of the circle (figure A). Sl st to the top of the ch-3. Fasten off.

Smaller circles (make 2):
Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to join in the round, ch 1, 12 sc in the center, sl st in 1st ch 1, fasten off.

Necklace chain:
Ch 82 (or number needed to fit comfortably around neck).
Row 1: Work 1 sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc into each ch to end, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc into 1st sc, *ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc into next sc; rep from * to end, turn.

Button loop:
Ch 5, sc into last sc, ch 1, turn, work 8 sc into the loop. At the end, sl s into the last ch; fasten off.

Finishing:
1. To put the necklace together, first weave in all loose ends; then, using either invisible thread or fishing line and after having placed the pieces together as desired, hand-stitch the circles together and onto the necklace chain.

2. Sew on a button.
