Now, blending the restfulness of solids with the personality of patterns has created a visual balance. A large wooden valance for the window behind the bed holds tiered burgundy curtains, and a vintage chandelier illuminates the burgundy bedding. The eternity-knot motif on the bedding is repeated in the candle sconces, sections of the curtains and the stenciling on the walls. To brighten the room, the ceiling and lower half of the walls are painted pewter, while the upper half of the walls is painted burgundy. The chandelier is painted pewter to match the other accessories in the room.
