Trick out your island oasis with spa-style fixtures that make the most of water's sensuality. You may not be able to float in a secluded lagoon, but you can lounge in a state-of-the-art soaking tub. And a decadent rain shower may be the next best thing to rinsing off under an island waterfall.

Whether your tastes run more toward the Caribbean or the South Pacific, every tropical paradise is teeming with life. Bring some of that life into your own getaway with large tropical plants, lit from below with simple can lights. Not enough sunlight to grow your own jungle? Try a few fabulous fakes that only need some dusting to look great.

Try bamboo for picture or mirror frames or sisal for an invigorating bath mat. Take a look at outdoor furniture in wood, wicker and wrought iron for the right feel. If there's room, create a small Margaritaville nook with a mini-bar or at least a blender for your favorite frozen concoction.
