Although she lives squarely within city limits, designer, wife and mother Kristen Hoogendorn's Boston home looks and feels like a cozy, shoreline cottage.

To achieve the soothing beach-house style, owner/designer Kristen Hoogendorn chose a warm and soothing color palette that mimics the color of the ocean. Then as a complement, the walls were done in a combination of off-white tile and cream-colored paint.
