Homeowners Sharon and John Distase hate their bathroom. Even their 7-year-old daughter, Sydney, is embarrassed to have her friends see it. They have tried to disguise the bold, brash wallpaper by downplaying it with a jungle motif, but, it doesn't quite work. Designer Krista Watterworth and carpenter Marc Bartolomeo are ready to replace the robust patterns with some cool contemporary colors, natural tiles and bright modern fixtures.

It has blue flowers, brown stems and lily pads with gold foil accents. The bold pattern makes the room feel tomb-like, as if the walls are closing in. The homeowners also have a problem with the fake-wood veneer vanity; they think it is very ugly, and the old double sinks are full of rust stains and calcium deposits.
