The Tuscan look, which is essentially Italian country, has been popular for some time and can make any area warm and inviting. However, the second team of Josh F., Todd, Christina, Will and Robb, choose to approach their transformation of the McCarty kitchen literally and fails to pull their contrasting elements together. Among the problems encountered are the cabinets. They manage to go from dark, warm brown to a combination of painted and crackled hues of cream and gray. By simply adding some great and large-scale, wrought iron hardware to the existing cabinets, this team could have instantly transformed the look and preserved the factory finish on the cabinets. Dark brown serves the Tuscan look very well and this is something the team realizes by introducing dark-brown furnishings and finishing the wine rack/fountain space in dark brown. Unfortunately, they overlook the classic Tuscan finish when it comes to the cabinets themselves.
